“We were a small group who had lunch on Sunday Feb 22nd. The place is wonderful, the service great, but the food is a little disappointing. The porchetta was far too fatty, the gnocchi were not great, and were served with bread (!), that's just too much carbs, some greens or a little side salad would have been better, in my opinion. However, the bread was lovely, also the blood orange and almond milk pudding. Nice, friendly service and a great atmosphere.”
“We had a meal at the restaurant during the bank holiday. The food made from the local produce was spectacular. Service by Katherine was excellent. We had walked on a 10 mile trail prior to having our dinner and came directly to the restaurant. We were both offered 2 slices of their sourdough bread to have with the herbed olive oil when we mentioned this. Such a small but kind gesture that we really appreciated. We had the asparagus, local trout and grey mullet which were both lightly seasoned and tasted incredible. The food was served piping hot (one of my favourite things) and the plates were warmed. The quality of their produce shines. For dessert, we had the coffee & date pudding as well as the chocolate slice. The restaurant seems pretty kid friendly and we saw many kids during the dinner service. Need to make an advanced reservation as it’s really full!”
“Didn't stay here but ate at the restaurant. A Truly exceptional evening. We consider ourselves foodies and love nothing more than good food in great venues. This passes with flying colours. The service was really brilliant, attentive , friendly staff from the door to the table and beyond. Everyone was great. The food is delicious, elevated farm to table vibes, starters were decent enough, but mains and beyond were where it excelled ,.with some outstanding gnocchi and steak. The decor is beautiful, the surround area and building gorgeous. Genuine one of my favourite hotel restaurants in the country. Make sure to try the croissant fritters with the van de constance desert wine for afters if they have it. Absolute chefs kiss to end a wonderful mean. And also if you can lounge in the library /lounge area after for a little tipple to send you on your way. Wonderful place we will for sure visit again one day”
“Had the most perfect weekend celebrating my hen do with family. The staff were so thoughtful and made the weekend very special. They kindly upgraded our room at no additional cost, as well offering complimentary fizz for our hen party. Thank you for delicious food, amazing hospitality, and an unforgettable weekend. The location was stunning, we enjoyed relaxing in the garden having delicious cocktails, as well as massages in a beautiful setting. We will definitely be back, thanks so much for making it so special.”
“I disagree with some of the previous comments regarding poor service. There are a lot of staff here who are all attentive and friendly. The pace is leisurely but why rush. Drinks came quickly once ordered and it was busy when we were there. Our waitress Pippa was outstanding. I’d also like to mention Alisha who showed us to our room. Very knowledgeable and professional.”
